மஹா நாராயண உபநிஷத்
தைத்திரிய நாராயணவல்லீ
ததே ³வர்தம் தது ³ ஸத்யமாஹுஸ் ததே ³வ ப்³ரஹ்ம பரமம் கவீநாம் ।
இஷ்டாபூர்தம் ப³ஹுதா⁴ ஜாதம் ஜாயமாநம் விஶ்வம் பி³ப⁴ர்தி பு⁴வநஸ்ய நாபி :⁴ ॥ 6॥
*பொருள் *
அதுவே ருதம், அதுவே சத்தியம் என்று (அறிந்தவர்கள்) கூறுகிறார்கள். அதுவே தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் பரப்பிரம்மம். அதுவே இஷ்டாபூர்த்தம். அதுவே புவனத்தின் நாபியாகி பலவகையாய் உண்டானதும் உண்டாவதுமான உலகைத் தாங்குகிறது.
விளக்கவுரை
ருதம் - விவகார உண்மை; உலகில் காணும் அழகும் ஒழுங்கும்; பகவானுடைய லீலா விபூதி.
ஸத்தியம்- உலகின் அழகும் ஒழுங்கும் அடிப்படையாய் இருக்கும் பாரமார்த்திக உண்மை. பகவானுடைய நித்ய விபூதி.
இஷ்டாபூர்த்தம் - இஷ்டம் அல்லது இஷ்டியாவது யாகம் முதலிய வகையில் தேவதாராதனை. பூர்த்தம் என்பது சத்திரம் கட்டுதல், கிணறு வெட்டுதல் போன்ற சமூக சேவை.
புவனத்தின் நாபி - ஒரு சக்கரத்தின் குடத்தில் ஆரங்கள் எல்லாம் பொருத்துமாப்போல் உலகமெல்லாம் பரப்பிரம்மத்திடம் பொருந்துகிறது.
तदेवर्तं तदुसत्यमाहुस्तदेव ब्रह्म परमं कवीनाम् । इष्टापूर्तं बहुधा जातं जायमानं विश्वं बिभर्ति भुवनस्य नाभिः ॥ ६
tadevartaṁ tadu satyamāhustadeva brahma paramaṁ kavīnām .
iṣṭāpūrtaṁ bahudhā jātaṁ jāyamānaṁ viśvaṁ bibharti
bhuvanasya nābhiḥ .. 6..
Meaning
Sages declare: That alone is right and That alone is true That alone is the venerable Brahman contemplated by the wise. Acts of worship and social utility also are that Reality. That alone being the navel of the universe, sustains manifold the universe which arose in the past and which springs to existence at present.
Commentary
Paramātman described in the previous stanzas as the cause of the universe is the one existence, and apart from Him nothing else can be presumed. So He is not only present in every atom of the universe but also in every quality, action, and relation This is the truth illustrated in the present stanza.
Ṛita and Satya - rendered as light and true are two important terms in the Vedas:
The first term stands for the physical, moral, and spiritual laws or the order of things evident everywhere, and the second one denotes individual and social acts of truthfulness.
