மஹா நாராயண உபநிஷத்
தைத்திரிய நாராயணவல்லீ
அத : பரம் நாந்யத ³ணீயஸ ꣳ ஹி பராத்பரம் யந் மஹதோ மஹாந்தம் ।
யதே³கமவ்யக்த மநந்த ரூபம் விஶ்வம் புராணம் தமஸ : பரஸ்தாத் ॥ 5॥
*பொருள் *
எவன் உயர்ந்ததற்கு எல்லாம் உயர்ந்தவனோ, பெரியதற்கு எல்லாம் பெரியவனோ, (ஒப்பற்ற) ஒருவனோ, வெளிப்படையாகத் தோன்றாதவனோ, அளவு கடந்த வடிவு உடையவனோ, உலகெல்லாம் ஆகியவனோ, புராதனனோ, இருளுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டவனோ, அவனைக் காட்டிலும் வேறானதும், ஸூக்ஷ்மமானதும் பிறிதொன்றும் இல்லை.
விளக்கவுரை
அவன் உயர்ந்தது எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் உயர்ந்தவன். பெரியதற்கெல்லாம் பெரியவன். அளவுகடந்த வடிவங்களை உடையவன். உலகம் முழுவதும் வியாபித்து இருப்பவன். அவனே அண்டங்களுக்கெல்லாம் முன்தோன்றியவன்.
இதையே மகான் கபீர் தாசர் மிக அழகாக இரண்டு உவமை அணிகளுடன் ஒப்பிடுகிறார். "புருஷ புராதன கி வதூ க்யோ ந சர்சலா ஹோய்!"
பகவான் புராதனன். புராதனம் என்றால் "மிக மிக மிகப் பழமையானவன் இருந்தாலும் புதிதாகவே இருப்பவன்".
கபீர் கூறுகிறார், பகவான் மிகப்பழமையானவன், அவருடைய மனைவியோ இளம் பெண்ணான மஹாலக்ஷ்மீ! அவள் ஒரு இடத்திலேயே இருப்பதில்லை! இடம் மாறி மாறி மனிதர்களுக்குத் தன் அருள் பார்வையை அளிக்கிறாள்.
अतः परं नान्यदणीयसꣳ हि परात्परं यन्महतोमहान्तम् । यदेकमव्यक्तमनन्तरूपं विश्वं पुराणं तमसः परस्तात् ॥ ५॥
ataḥ paraṁ nānyadaṇīyasaɱ hi parātparaṁ yanmahato mahāntam .
yadekamavyaktamanantarūpaṁ viśvaṁ purāṇaṁ tamasaḥ parastāt .. 5..
Meaning
Who is of unlimited forms, who is the universe, who is ancient, who remains beyond darkness or Prakṛti and who is higher than the highest—nothing else exists other than, or subtler than, Him.
Commentary
It is asserted that in spite of the transformation of the Paramātman into the gross universe and His residence within the smallest of created beings, He is still greater than the greatest, higher than the highest, subtler than the subtlest and older than the oldest.
Though he has become the manifold universe of variety and multiplicity, yet, He remains one and undivided. He is beyond the taint of darkness and sensuous knowledge.
