*Enlightening Encounters*

A gentleman once approached His Holiness. He submitted his doubts in the procedure prescribed for performing certain karma. An adept in the shastras, His Holiness settled all his doubts in no time.

Man: (Thrilled at the convincing answers) I am going to publish all this and thus help the sincere aspirants learn the correct procedure.

H.H.: (With concern) Will it not be more authoritative if you first practise it and then consider publishing it for the sake of others?

Man: (Containing his excitement) I see the point in Your compassionate advice. I apologize for my over enthusiasm.

H.H.: (Compassionately) Don't be worried. When we preach what we ourselves haven't practised, it will not have the desired effect. That's why I advised you to put it into practice first.

*The book deals with anecdotes of Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamin*
