Greetings and Namaste. Sri Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti falls on Sunday (30-Aug-2020), I am delighted to share an 8-stanza prayer on Dhara Devi taken from Skanda Puranam, Nagara Khanda and Chapter 169.
As the hymns specific to the form of Bhuvaneshwari is already in the public domain, I am sharing this short and sweet hymn which worships Devi in the form of Dhara Devi. In the brief Phalashruti, it is mentioned that one who prays to Goddess Dhara Devi with this hymn will be protected from all diseases and sins year long.
Sri Bhuvaneshvari is a form Goddess Shakti and counted as the fourth in the Ten Mahavidyas. It is mentioned that She is the super power above Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra and gave an aspect of her to become their consorts (Saraswati, Lakshmi and Gauri). It also said that Sage Vashishta mentioned to Lord Rama during his Pattabhishekam that "in the world of Sadhanas, there is no more powerful sadhana powerful than that of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari for becoming prosperous. In other words, Bhuvaneshwari worship is the key to success in whatever field of profession a person takes.
