Sri Vamana Jayanti and Sri Bhuvaneswari Jayanti

*29th August 2020 Saturday* is a very special day. It is both *Sri Vamana Jayanti and Sri Bhuvaneswari Jayanti.*

You all know the story of Vamana Avatara and we were just reminded of it so beautifully in the recent Bhagavata Saptaham. May Lord Trivikrama place His Lotus Foot on our head symbolising the elimination of our ego and give us what He thinks is best for us.

It is also the Jayanti of Bhuvaneswari Devi. The fourth of the ten Mahavidyas, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is a nurturer. She is also known as Om Shakti or Adi Shakti. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the manifestation of Lord Shiva. She is the most radiant and gentle of all the Goddesses. She is a supreme Goddess who holds the moon on her forehead, creates everything and protects us from evils. Devotees who worship Goddess Bhuvaneshwari are blessed with strength, wisdom, and wealth. Bhuvaneshwari means the Goddess of the Universe. Worshipping the Goddess with devotion and dedication helps to get freedom from the fear of the cycle of birth and death and attain Salvation.

Both the auspicious events can be celebrated in any way that suits you like puja or Vishnu Sahasranamam and Lalitha Sahasranama parayanam and so on.

Sri Sankara TV is telecasting the Vamana Jayanti puja live from Sringeri starting at 9pm on Saturday.
