This is the sum and substance of Advaita Vedantam..
------------------
The philosophy, the supreme one in the history of human thought has been discussed in milliions of words by many including our supreme Guru Shanakara Bhagavat pada..
But the essence is given in just half of a couplet.
===================
Shankara Says "I am just telling in just half a shlokam,,
The Bramam is the only real thing, the entire universe we see is just illusory and the jeeva or jeevaatma is the same and not different from Brahmam the paramatma.."
=========================
This slokam has profound importance though the narration may look so simple..
The adavitam of Shankara defines the philosophy of human existence as above..
We exist, move about, think and act with an illusory body and mind apparently existing in a universe which again is illusory..
There is only one thing that is real .. The Brhmam.. the parabraham.. the paramatma.. the supreme soul, the supreme being.
That supreme being for reasons best known to himself manifests himself in the illusion of existence created by himself and resides there are the jeevatma..
Only Brahmam is the reality..
