Dear All,
Greetings and Namaste. It has been a quite a while since my last posting - due to preoccupation with my profession - and I am glad to resume the same with a hymn on Lord Vinayaka (as is always done in our Sanatana Dharma).
As Sri Vinayaka Chaturthi falls on Monday (05-September-2016), I am delighted to attach a rare Trishati on Lord Ekarna Ganesha taken from Vinayaka Tantra which contains a Sahasranama, Trishati, Ashtottaram and Kavacham on Lord Ekarna Ganesha. Since this is taken from a handwritten manuscript, there are a few words which are doubtful to me. The brief Phalashruti mentions that one who chants this on daily or on Tuesdays or on Chaturthi days thrice will get all rightful wishes fulfilled.
We have seen many attributions to Lord Ganesha from Purans in the last few years - that he is the Prathama Pujita (first worshipped) - regardless of the sub-sect leanings - some of the aberrations in some-sects must be later day irrational exuberances.
Recently I stumbled upon a shloka in Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Prakriti Khanda, Chatper 1, Shloka 154 by Lord Narayana which goes as under:
gaNeshashca svayaM kRRiShNaH skando viShNukalo druvaH | babhUvatus tau tanayau pashcAt tasyAshca nArada ||
(Meaning : O Sage Narada! Lord Ganesha is indeed Lord Krishna and Lord Skanda is an Amsa of Lord Vishnu. But both of them are known to be the sons of Lord Shiva)
Compare this with the prescription in Varaha Purana where Lord Vishnu is prescribed to be worshipped in the form of Lord Shanmukha (Kanti Vrata) and Vinayaka Stuti in Narada Pancharatra where Lord Vinayaka is said to bestow Vishnu Bhakti - I had quoted these in the past that the perceived differences among various deity forms are pure mental hallucinations of the idle and birdbrained.
May We Pray to Lord Vighneshwara with a prayer to remove obstacles that come in the way of true search for GYana!
