Though everyone is endowed with infinite power; the power that makes him divine supreme, he is unfortunately not aware of the greatness in him. Groping in the dark, he is unable to decide which way he should proceed; towards the world of illusion which leads to sorrows and struggles or towards the world of reality which leads to eternal happiness. While one way leads him to the gate of bondage and attachment, the other way leads him to the state of freedom. His plight become sad when he takes the road shown by his mind and gets caught in the turmoil of world, like the boatman facing a violent storm.
When a man, walking through the road, finds a cross-road and finds it difficult to decide which direction he should proceed, he invariably takes the help of a passer-by and asks for guidance. Similarly, the individual who wishes to move ahead, go beyond the world of illusion and reach the state of infinite happiness and freedom would only take the guidance of a Guru. It is the Guru who breaks all chains that binds him and leads him from darkness to light. It is the guru, the teacher and mentor, who reminds him of his divine, true nature, the Self-knowledge. It is the Guru who helps him to attain his spiritual fulfillment (Poornatwam) and liberates him to the state of immortality (immortality).
"Where exactly I can find such a Guru," you might ask. Guru is not necessarily found in human form. Guru is right within us. However, Guru also appears in human form to turn our attention within. There was never a time in this sacred land of ours when an enlightened sage was not present. The Gurus or saints are there, everywhere and at all times. There are right here now, in our midst. The saint's teachings are also available to us through texts and books. All that we need to do is to seek them and look for them with earnestness, sincerity and devotion. If you take few steps forward, the Guru would take four steps towards you.
"Amritha Varshini" takes pride in bringing out a book of saints which gives a glimpse into the life and teachings of saints who walked over this holy land of ours. It contains about 375 pages and priced at Rs. 200/- (plus courier charges). Those who order Five Copies and above the courier charges will be free for delivery within India.

Members must be aware that currently Amritha Varshini supports Eleven Patashalas and we contribute Rs. 11011 every month towards Maha Pidi Arisi Thittam.
