Dear Friends,
I had earlier translated in to English about 700 Carnatic Music krithis originally written in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada , Hindi , Malayalam and Sanskrit. All these songs are prayers to Gods . They are much shorter than Stotras. During the last ten days I have translated 7 kannada songs , 8 Sanskrit songs , 26 Tamil Songs and 4 Telugu songs. All my translations can be found in

This time I have translated two Music dramas written in Tamil by Smt. Kalaimamani Smt.D .Pattammal . They are
1.Kumara sambhavam
This is based on the book of the name by Poet Kalidasa. It describes in detail how Goddess Parvathi married Lord Shiva to get a child who would kill Tharakasura. The entire story is told in 17 songs . You can find the original in Tamil in

2. Madhava Geetham
This is based on Jaya deva's celebrated work Geetha Govindam. It has 26 songs summarizing similar number of chapters in the Geetha Govindam. The forward to this great work has been written by Late Smt.Rukhmani Devi Arundale . You can find the original work in Tamil in
