Chintamani provides all the comforts of this world. Surudru (Kalpa Vriksham) provides all comforts of Heaven. Vaikuntham, which is very difficult even for the greatest yogis can be obtained by the grace of the Guru







चित्ता चिन्ता समाप्रोक्ता बिंदुमात्रा विशेशताः
सजीवं दाहते चिन्ता निर्जीवं दाहते चिता


The words chitaa and chintaa are very similar. The only difference is the anusvaar (the dot on chi). Not only are the words similar, but also their actions and consequences. chintaa (worry) burns or destroys living human beings, while chitaa (funeral pyre) destroys a dead body







धर्म एव हतो हन्ति
धर्मो रक्शति रक्शितः
- Manu Smrithi 6.15

Those who try to destroy Dharma shall be destroyed by Dharma and those who try to save Dharma shall be saved by Dharma







द्वापरैर् जनैर् विश्णुः पांचरात्रैस्तु केवलम्
कलौ तु नाम मात्रेन पुज्यते भगवान् हरिः

In the Dvapara-yuga people should worship Lord Visnu only by the regulative principles of the pancaratra and other such authorized books. In the Age of Kali, however, people should only chant the holy names of the Supreme Personality of Godhead

There is only one God - not the second; not at all; not at all; not in the least bit;







एकमेव द्वितीयं


There is only one (The God) and no second. This whole universe and every other creation is not separate from the God himself.

भक्ति योगो भगवते तम् नमः ग्रहनादिभिः

Devotional service, beginning with the chanting of the holy name of the Lord, is the ultimate religious principle for the living entity in human society.







गंगा स्नान सहस्रेशु पुश्कर स्नान कोटिशु
नयत्पापम् लयम् यति स्मृते नश्यति तद् हरौ

Those deadly sins that are not washed away even after thousand baths in sacred Ganga and one lakh of baths during pushkaras are washed away merely by chanting the name of Hari.

Hari's Name, Hari's name, Hari's name is the only one solution to Kali. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way !







जपस्तु सर्व धर्मेभ्यो परोधर्म उच्यते
अहिंसायच भुतनाम् जप यग्नो प्रवर्तते

Because japa yagna involves no harm to any living beings whatsoever, it is considered to be the most sacred of all yagnas







कलौ कल्मश चित्तानाम् पापद्रव्योपजीवनाम्
विधि क्रिय विहीनानाम् गतिर् गोविंद कीर्तनम्
- Bhagavatham

In Kali Yuga, people live with poluted minds and live on money that is earned by papa (bad deeds). They will not follow the spiritual rituals nor their duties. But the best part is, they can attain Utham Gathi just by singing the name of Govinda !







कलि कालकुसर्पस्य तीक्शणदंश्ट्रास्य मा भयम्
गोविंद नाम धनेन धग्दो यस्यति भस्मतम्
- Skanda Purana

I see that Kali-yuga is like a black, poisonous snake with a gaping mouth and fangs. But please be unperturbed dear devotees and listen with faith. Once the holy name of the Lord is being chanted, it is like igniting a forest fire which will burn to ashes the poisonous snakes within the forest.







कलियुग केवल नाम आधार
सुमिरि सुमिरि नर उतिरह्न पार
उमा कहौ मै अनुभव अपना
सदा हरि भजन जगत सब सपना

Lord Siva to Parvathi: In this age of Kali Yuga chanting the holy name of the Lord is the only suitable boat by which one can easily cross this material existence. O Parvati, I tell you my own realization that chanting the names of Lord Rama is the only true panacea to remove troubles of life and everything else is just a waste of time







कन्या वरयते रूपं माता वित्तं पिता श्रुतम्
भांधवा कुलमिच्चंति मृश्टान्नं इतरे जनः


What do people look for in a prospective bridegroom while making a match ? The girl goes for the looks of the boy, her mother is more concerned about how much wealth he has acquired. The father wants his son-in-law to be well-educated, relatives want to ensure that the boy is from a good family while the rest of the people only look forward to the sweets served during the wedding







कार्येशु दासी करणेशु मंत्री
रूपेशु लक्श्मी क्शमाय धरित्रि
भोज्येशु माता शयणेशु रंभ
शट् धर्मयुक्त कुलधर्मपत्नि

क्शमा बलं अशक्तानां शक्तानां भूशणं क्शमा
क्शमा वशीकृते लोके क्शमाय किं न साध्यते


Kshama (Forgiveness) is the strength of the weak and ornament of the strong. When the entire world can be conquered by forgiveness, what cant be accomplished by it ?







क्शमा शस्त्रं करे यस्यदर्जनः किं करिश्यति
अत्रिने पतितो वह्निः स्वयम् एव उपशाम्यति


What can an evil person do to a person who is equipped with the weapon of forgivance ? Fire fallen on ground without any grass extinguishes by itself







कृशितो नास्ति धुर्भिक्शं
जपतो नास्ति पातकं


Poverty can be eliminated by hard work and Sins can be cleaned up by Japam







कृश्ण कृश्णेति स्वपन् जाग्रद् व्रजम्स्तत
यो जपति कलौ नित्यम् कृश्णरूपि भवेद्दिसः
- Varaha Swamy, Varaha Purana

Whosoever continuously chants Lord Krishna's holy name, even in his sleep, can easily realize that the name is a direct manifestation of Krishna Himself, in spite of the influences of Kali-yuga. This has been ordained by Lord Krishna







कृतयेत् ध्यायेत् विश्णुं त्रेतायां याजतोमुखैः
द्वापरे परिचर्यायां कलौ तद् हरि कीर्तनं
- Bhagavatham 12.3.52

In Krita Yuga, Dhyana of Vishnu is the path to Moksha (Salvation). Yagnas in Tretha Yuga, Ritual worship in Dwapara Yuga are the paths to be followed. However, in Kali Yuga chanting of lord's name is the path to Moksha







लक्श्मीर्वसती जिह्वाग्रे
जिह्वाग्रे मित्रभान्धवाः
जिह्वाग्रे भन्धनं प्रासं
जिह्वाग्रे मरणं ध्रुवं


Prosperity resides on tip of the tongue and so are friends and relatives. The tip of your tongue has the capacity to arrest you and verily death resides on it for sure.







महाभागवत नित्यम् कलौ संकीर्तय केशवम्
- Skanda Purana

The hallmark of a maha bhagavata the most elevated devotee in Kali-yuga is that he chants the holy name of the Lord constantly







महर्शीनाम् भ्रुगुरहम् गिरामास्मैकमक्शरम्
यङ्ञनाम् जपयङ्ञोस्मि स्तावरनाम् हिमालया
- Bhagavad Geetha 10.25

Oh Arjuna, among maharshis, I am Brigu. Among the Bhijaksharas, I am OM. Among Yagnas, I am the Japa Yagna and Himalayas among the mountains







न अहम् वसामि वैकुंठे न योगि हृदये रवौ
मत् भक्ता यत्र गायंति तत्र तिश्टामि नारद!
- vishnu, Bhagavatham

Oh Narada ! Nor do I stay in Vaikuntha nor I stay in the hearts of yogis, wherever my devotee is praising of me, there shall I stay put







न चोर्यहारं न च राजहार्यं
न भ्रात्रुभाज्यं न च भारकारि
व्यये क्रुते वर्धत एव नित्यं
विद्याधनं सर्वधन प्रधानं


It cannot be stolen by thieves,nor can it be taken away by kings. It cannot be divided among brothers, it does not cause a load on your shoulders. If spent... it indeed always keeps growing. The wealth of knowledge... is the most superior wealth of all!







न हि ग्यानेन सद्रुशम्...
- krishna, Bhagavad Geetha 4.38

there is nothing equivalent to knowledge







नाम संकीर्तनं यस्य सर्व पाप प्रनासनं
प्रनामो धुख समनास्तु तम् नमामि हरिम् परम्
- Bhagavatham

By chanting the holy names of Whom all sins are removed and by bowing down to Whom all miseries of life are removed, to such a Supreme Lord Hari I pay my humble obeisance







निंदान्तु नीतिनिपुणाः यदि वा स्तुवन्तु
लक्श्मीः समाविशतु गच्च्चतु व यतेश्ठं
अद्य एव वा मरणम् अस्तु युगान्तरे वा
न्याय्यात् पतःप्रविचलन्ति पदं न धीराः

The experts may blame you or praise you; Lakshmi (wealth) may choose to stay with you ar leave or do whatever she likes; Death may be as near as today or as far away as the next eon; but the brave and resolute do not deviate from their path of justice and morality







राम नाम करे अमित प्रभाव
सन्त् पुराण उपनिशद् गाव

The Holy Name of the Rama gives great results. This is the essence of messages of Holy Saints, Sages, Puranas and Upanishads.







सर्गश्च प्रतिसर्गश्च वंशो मन्वन्तराणिच
वंशानुचरितं चैव पुराणं पंचलक्शनं
- kurma purana 1.12

Sarga (Creation), Prathi Sarga (Pralaya / Dissolution), Vamsho (Dynasties), Manvataras (Dynasties of Manus), Vamshanu Charitham(History) --- These are the 5 characterstics of puranas (Puranas covers these subjects)







सत्यम् ब्रूयात्, प्रियं ब्रूयात्, न ब्रूयात् सत्यम् अप्रियं

Speak Truth. Speak Pleasantly. You do not have to speak the truth that is unpleasant. (All that you speak must be true. But you do not have to speak all that is true)







सत्यम् कलियुग विप्र श्रीहरेर्नाम मंगलम्
परम् स्वस्त्य यनम् न्रुनम् नास्ति एव गतिरन्यद
- Padma Purana

Oh brahmana, chanting of the holy name is the auspicious process in Kali Yuga. It is the highest auspiciousness for mankind. There is no other way

Listening to the Holy names of Vishnu, singing His glory, continuous thinking of Him, serving His Holy Feet, performing His rituals, praying with folded hands, the thought of considering Him the Sole Master, and surrendering oneself completely to Him are the 9 ways of Bhakti.

सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं राम नाम वरानने

Chanting the Name of Rama once, gives the result of chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasranama. It is that Rama Nama that I chant continuously undisturbed







शृंगार वीर करुणाद्भुत हास्यभयानकाः
भीभत्सरौद्रौशान्तश्च काव्ये नवरसाः स्म्रताः


Love, Valour, Tragedy, Marvel, Humour, Fear, Disgust, Rage and Peace are the nine sentiments known in poetry







तस्मिन् तज्जन् भेदाभावात्

There is no difference between The Lord and his Devotees







तुलसी इस् संसार मे पांच तत्व् हे सार
सन्त मिलन, हरि कथा, दया, दान्, उपकार

यदि हन्ति तदन्यत्र

Whatever is found in this great epic can be found anywhere in this vast world. But whatever can't be found in this epic can't be found anywhere else !







यतो धर्मः

Where dharma (righteous) is, there shall be victory !







यत्फलं नास्ति तपसा न योगे न समाधिना
तत् फलं लभ्यते सम्यक् कलौ केशव कीर्तनात्

That result which can't be obtained by Tapas, Yoga and Samadhi, can be obtained by praising the name of Lord in Kali Yuga







यत्र योगीश्वरो क्रश्णो यत्र पार्धो धनुर्धरः
तत्रश्री विजयोर्भूति ध्रुवानीतिर्ममतिर्मम

येसं त्वान्त गतं पापं
जननं पुण्य कर्मणं
ते द्वंद्व मोह निर्मुक्ता
भजंते मम दृढ व्रत
- Bhagavad Geetha 7.28

Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life and whose sinful actions are completely eradicated are freed from the dualities of delusion, and they engage themselves in My service with determination
