Shame on Wealth-Sanskrit subhashitam

*दायादाः स्पृहयन्ति तस्कर* *गणाः मुष्णन्ति भूमीभुजो*

*दूरेण च्छलमाकल्य  हुतभुग्भस्मीकरोति क्षणात् |*

*अम्भः प्लावयते क्षितौ  विनिहितं यक्षा हरन्ति ध्रुवं*

*दुर्वृत्तास्तनया नयन्ति निधन धिग्धिग्धनं तद्बहु ||*

धिक्कार है अत्यधिक  धन का स्वामी होना जिस के कारण दूरस्थ सम्बन्धी  भी ईर्ष्या करते हैं ,चोर-डाकू उन्हें  लूट लेते हैं, तथा राजा भी छल पूर्वक दूर से ही उस धन पर अधिकार कर लेता है , आग लगने से वह राख मे परिवर्तित हो जाता है या जलप्लावन (बाढ )से नष्ट हो जाता है, भूमि पर अतिक्रमण हो जाता है, यक्ष गण (वर्तमान संदर्भ में निम्न स्तर के राजकीय कर्मचारी )निश्चय  ही उसे लूट

लेते हैं तथा  उनके  पुत्र भी दुर्व्यसनों में लिप्त हो कर शीघ्र ही नष्ट हो जाते हैं |

*Shame upon the wealth of filthy rich persons, which causes a longing among their distant relatives to acquire it, thieves and robbers loot it,* *and even the King (Government) indirectly or through deceit acquires it,* *gets*

*burnt into ashes by fire,*  *or destroyed in a flood,*  *the land owned is encroached,*

*Demigods (in the present context lower level officials) definitely rob them, and the sons of such person die early by indulging in  habits.*
