Here is an instance in the life of Jagadguru Sri , the 34th Jagadguru of Sringeri.
Once the Swamiji visited the local Veda patasala, Where a picture of Sri Adi Shankaracharya was prominently adorning the wall. The Swamiji was reverently received by the head teacher. With an intention to pay respect to the Jagadguru, he called out to the students who were outside the hall :"Hey Vidhyarthis! Come here quickly... "
The next moment the Jagadguru addressed him, "Calling them vidhyarthis, do you intend projecting both of us as the gurus? Here, Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada alone is the guru and every one else, even you and me, are just Vidyarthis! "
The jagadguru's humility and devotion to Sri Sankara taught the teacher a valuable lesson on how one should behave even in the presence of picture of the Adi Guru.!
