*The book deals with the anecdotes of Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamin*
1.During His travel in north India, a pilgrim observed His Holiness in deep prayer at a shrine. He mistook that His Holiness had some deep-rooted desire that needed fulfilment and hence that intense prayer! Later he approached His Holiness.
He : Swamiji, I have a doubt that needs Your clarification.
H.H: What is it?
He: I witnessed Your sincere prayer at the shrine...
H.H: Yes, I was totally absorbed in prayer.
He : Well, Sannyasins are supposed to be bereft of desires. Being a Sannyasi, what was the reason for Your intense prayer?
H.H (Smiling) Right. Sannyasins should be free of desires. But, the Acharyas of Sringeri do have one desire, for the gratification of which We pray.
He : Oh! What is it?
H.H: We Acharyas desire the welfare of the world. We want peace to prevail everywhere. It is this desire that prompts Us to submit Our earnest prayers at the feet of God, the Almighty.
