Greetings and Namaste. The Deepavali festivities start on the 13th lunar day of in the waning moon cycle otherwise known as Dhana Trayodashi (Dhanteras in the north) and this year, Dhanteras falls on 02-Nov-2021 (Tuesday). During Dhanteras, Lord Dhanvantari and Goddess Mahalakshmi are worshipped. Lamps are kept burning from the evening all through the night of Dhanteras.
In this connection, I am delighted to share a short and sweet prayer on Goddess Lakshmi by Manu taken from Srimad Devi Bhagavatam, Skandha 8, and Chapter 1. Goddess Lakshmi promises that one who recites this hymn gets everything one can imagine.
May We Pray to Lord Dhanvatari and Goddess Lakshmi on the Dhanteras day!
