Greetings and Namaste. As Kartika Deepam falls on Friday (19-Nov-2021), I am delighted to share a very rare hymn on Lord Shankara by Lord Vishnu taken from Skanda Mahapuranam, Maheshvara Khanda, Arunachala Mahatmyam (Uttarardha), and Chapter 14. In this short and sweet hymn Lord Vishnu praises Lord Shankara as the quintessence of the universe.
Though Kartika Deepam is celebrated in almost all temples for all deity forms, the Deepam at Arunachala (commonly known in Tamil as Thiruvannamalai, a few hours' drive from Chennai) is especially very famous and sacred.
May We Pray To Lord Arunachaleshwara with this beautiful hymn!
