The basis of this posting is a mythological story I have read about the abducting of TARA, wife of Jupiter by MOON. Tara was one of the wives of JUPITER.
All conversations and most descriptions are purely IMAGINARY to make the posting interesting. This includes my title also. I receive a number of responses encouraging my imaginary conversations. Continue to read the interesting legend

1. Jupiter receives invitation for Yagya from Moon God.
One day Jupiter was taking rest after meals in the house of SUBHA, one of his wives. One of his assistants told, a person has come with an invitation from Moon to hand over and get an acknowledgement.
Jupiter said- Ask him to come.
The person saluted Jupiter and handed over an invitation. Moon had invited Jupiter to attend yagya with FAMILY.
Jupiter immediately prepared a positive acknowledgement and handed over to the messenger. Messenger left telling he will hand over the acknowledgement to Moon God which he may be awaiting.
2. Who among the wives has to follow?
Jupiter had three wives. SUBHA, MAMTA AND TARA. When he received the invitation, he was in the house of SUBHA. TARA was youngest and more handsome and impressive of the three.
Subha enquired Jupiter- What is the invitation?. On knowing it is from MOON for a yagya, Subha told, either myself or Mamta will come with you. LET TARA REMAIN HERE. A statement least expected by Jupiter. Subha had many things in her mind.
Jupiter replied – Why cant you discuss with Mamta and Tara, probably Tara may be more interested to come. You both have come with me in many journeys.
Subha called Mamta. Mamta agreed either of them will go with him. Let Tara remain here. Both came together to Jupiter and put forth their view. Mamta used to agree with the elder Subha, who was more capable and for seeing.
Jupiter asked them- What is Tara's opinion? They jointly said- We desire any of us will come with out touching any where.
Jupiter was least happy. He was imagining attending yagya with handsome young Tara.
Jupiter now opened his mind- Tara was expressing her desire to go any where recently and I was thinking of taking her to this yagya on receiving the invitation.
To pacify Subha and Mamta he added - This time let me take Tara. I am also interested. In forthcoming functions I will take you both.
Subha and Mamta knew well the nature of Jupiter. They said- In our opinion, you should not take Tara for this yagya. One of us will remain with her, and one of us will come with you. Still if you desire, we are not against your decision.
3. Tara getting ready.
On knowing about the yagya invitation, Tara knew well, Jupiter will take her and take her only. Even before Jupiter telling, she advanced- I am only coming with you. Am I right? Both Subha and Mamta have come with you many times already. If I am coming it will be more impressive. Just think of it. Jupiter seeing the interest of Tara to come with him , nodded pleasingly telling Yes, Yes many times.
4. Subha and Mamta talks
After Jupiter left with Tara for yagya, Mamta being lonely came to Subha's house. Subha welcomed her. After preliminary talks Mamta enquired Subha- Sister, why you were of the view that one of us will go and not Tara with Jupiter. There could be some reasoning for you.
Subha replied- I was not really against her going with our husband. She is young, let her enjoy. But she is also handsome and impressive. You may be knowing, there was some black mark for Moon and got set right later. Hence I personally did not like her for the yagya organized by MOON.
Mamta was curious to know of the back mark.
Subha detailed to her the AHALAYA STORY where INDRA approached her in the form of her husband sage GAUTHAMA, and MOON took the form of cock to assist Indra, to announce it is the morning, by its "Kooval " and in later incidents Moon was cursed by sage Gauthama to have no body.
Finally Moon's co-brother Lord Siva helped to have full body once in 15 days, then decrease gradually to no body. Again increase in 15 days to full body. ( Waxing and waning of MOON). Even Lord Siva could help partially only.
4. Grand welcome to Jupiter.
Moon was waiting at the door step on hearing Jupiter is reaching with his wife. He received both. First impression is best impression. Tara could impress MOON. They were seated by Moon in prominent place.
5. Yagya begins
It was a very big yagya. The premises were full. To talk of prominent personalities, there was Yama Dharma with one of his wives to attend the yagya of his co-brother. There was Lord Siva with Sathi another prominent co brother gracing the occasion. There was Kashyapa his eldest co-brother with one of his wives.
With twenty seven wives from ASWATHI TO REVATHI , Moon was getting ready for Yagya impressing every body. Moon was of course referring to ROHINI than others. Though other wives noted, being yagya they did not bother too much. It will spoil the mood of MOON.
He requested Jupiter and Tara to actively participate in the yagya. TARA TOOK IT LITERALLY. Yagya commenced . Tara by her handsome appearance and movements impressed all and Moon was very happy of her active participation.
One of the assembled commented- IS TARA MORE HAND SOME THAN ROHINI? It hit Moon some where. Jupiter thought- What a nice thing in this big yagya, I brought Tara.
6. Tara missing.
Yagya was going on. Tara was moving here and there, actively participating with MOON. Yagya completed. Jupiter talking with some other, did not listen too much to Tara. One moment he felt Tara was not seen any where. Her voice was missing. He searched. Tara was missing.
7. Jupiter returns with out Tara.
No body could locate Tara. Jupiter had to go with out Tara after yagya. He was not in a mind to get yagya share etc. Like the squirrel which lost the nut (Andi kalanja annan), Jupiter reached alone to Subha's house.
8. Appoazhe Jnan paranjillae…
To whom else Jupiter can tell his sorrow. After laying down in the cot, Jupiter called Subha. Subha came and sat near his cot. Jupiter narrated the incidents and missing of Tara all on a sudden after Yagya.
With sorrow Subha said- Appozhae Jnan paranjillae Kondu pokanda, pokandannu…
I will have a 2nd part. Who abducted Tara? What happened to Tara? Did Tara joined Jupiter later? And many more will be covered in it.
