Ramayana is a scripture that was composed in the ancient Sanskrit language thousands of years ago by a seer named Valmiki. It has been hailed as the first ever complete scripture in the world. It gives the story in 24,000 poetic verses of Rama, a noble king who was a model of human virtues and character. The first chapter contains a synopsis of the story in 100 verses known as shlokas.
Swamiji has posted a 28 minute musical rendering of this synopsis, accompanied by a beautifully colored pictorial depiction of the story on YouTube on the Internet at http://youtu.be/DIqWedULU3g to make it easy for everyone to view and understand the story. It is sung in his own powerful, sonorous voice. He has even colored the pictures himself! The English text and the meaning in English of each verse are given.
It has been stated that the merit of studying all the 24,000 verses of the Ramayana and all the four Vedas is obtained by viewing this 'Shatashloki Ramayana' repeatedly. For the physical, mental, spiritual, social, and financial wellbeing of everyone across the world, and for everyone's protection against natural calamities, viewing this video is recommended. Swamiji says that the words 'Srirama' is itself a maha mantra and just reading/listening to Ramayana purifies the environment, the mind, house and so on.
