THE MEANING OF VYAASA AS I PERCEIVE
" ll व्यासाय विष्णुरूपाय व्यास रोपाय विष्णवे
नमो वै ब्रह्मानाधये वासिष्टाय नमो नमःll"
1.व्यास = PERIMETER (the boundary line or the area immediately inside the boundary)
2. विष्णु= one who pervades all which are mobile and immobile (including time and space)
VyAsAya means Vyasa is the line, or diameter, which touches the circumference of a circle from any point, then touches the middlepoint, and then crosses to the other end or circumference – that is called Vyasa. It is the line that touches the opposite sides of the circumference of a circle, by going through the central point.
Thus, Vyasa means (representing the circumference) that we are part and parcel of Lord Vishnu.
Again vishNu rUpAyA means He is the embodiment of the one who pervades all.
In other words Vyaasa is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.
Brahma nidhaye means the one who is fully aware of BRAHMAM and what is BRAHMAM ? Brahmam is Omnipotent,omnipresent,omniscient,all pevasive(vaasyam),all imbibisive ,ultimate reality.
He is the great-grand son of VASISHTA and grandson of SHAKTHI. Who is Vasishta ? He is the son of Brahma who is the creator. Vyaasa is also the grandson of SHAKTHI or STRENGTH.
If we take the complete meaning of VYAASA , he is He is all- pervade .
