Some clarifications about Devasam(Sraadham)

Q1. In Sraddhams at our homes it said the left out food should not be given to all and sundry and is either given to a cow or it is buried under earth. why?

According Dharma sastras ( Sastrigal was quoting the Sraddha Mantrams) -

a.  On Sraddha day the entire food is prepared for our Pithrus who are our guests on that day ; one should the Bhava the whole day and night that ancestors are guests and therefore one should not think about food for self.  The ancestors after partaking the food bless us and tell the family to share the left out food amongst themselves and with blood relationships or Daayadis. They have not permitted to share the food with all and sundry.
Sastrigal's suggestion, which is very valid, is if at all one wishes to feed many others, one can cook separately many items as desired and feed those people who are not blood related without transgressing sastras.

Q2. Does sharddha to be done as Parvanam (i.e. with homam) or Hiranyam ( no homam)   In pindam and when food is served to Shraddha brhamanas some " annam" is scattered. why? - again quoting mantrams from Sraddha Kaandam

All religions in one way or the other observe annual ceremony for the departed souls. But all of them do for the one dead ALONE, while in our Dharma one does not only for one's father, grand father and great grand father ( or substitute mother instead of father) but for the entire " Kulam" means starting from the first person of the kulam.
In Parvanam ( doing Homamam) - there are certain Devathas who never get haavir Bhagams ( i.e. these devathas are not called while doing any of the homams in ones life time);
and these un -called devathas get satisfied in Parvan Sraddham. Therefore doing Hiranya sraddham these devathas are deprived.
The scattering of annam is for those boys ( who died when young and before their Upanaynam ) and those girls who dies before they were married off are satisfied by Mantras and by this annam.
Not only the above - Brhamanas have to be in Agni Sambhandham always ; that is why Samithadaanam for Brhamacharis and from the day of marriage Oupasnam - both these are to be done by Brhamachari and Gruhastha in the morning and evening after Sandhya Vandnams to be done and the Oupasana agni should never die; if dies needs to do Prayaschittam and re-start.  Therefore Brhamnas can never be without Agni Sambhandham . Today where is Agni with Brhamins?  Those Brhamins who are w/o Agni Sambandham are condemned and if Sraddham takes care even these Brhamanas in one's kulam to get Sad gaati.

Q3.  What to do when one's swashaka ( Sage Veda Vyasa split  Vedas into different Shakhas so that all need not learn the entire Vedas . This Vyasa did knowing fully weel people will be incapable of learning all the Vedas; the shakha one follows heriditerily is swa Shakha) Brhamana is not available for Sraddha ?

This question will not arise b'cause there is one year time before hand to search and find out some one in any of the cities and bring them by paying train or air fare . If absolutely one cannot find any one then he needs carry out Sraddha with any of the brhamanas available from other shakhas.

Q4.  Vishnu ealai - only Brhamachari must sit........ carify

According to Shastras only Vaiswadeva and Pithru brhamans are specified ( in each category ideal is 4 Brhamana / category but today getting one/ category is getting tough).
The mantras cover ( Janardhana Priyantaam ) Vishnu also ; there need not be separate Vishnu elai; but due to tradition this has come and Vishnu elai any one brhamachari or gruhastha can eat but should not be from the same family
