Seeking permission - HH Bharati teertha Mahaswamigal

Admirable Attitudes

Source:. Memorable Moments With a Magnificent Sage

A scholar submitted at the lotus feet of His Holiness an article penned by him. His Holiness promptly went through it. Though He felt that some portions of it required modification, He did not attempt to do it. The scholar came for darshan after a couple of days.

Scholar: Did Your Holiness have time to read the material?

H.H.: Yes. I read it fully. Some material alteration appears to be necessary at some portions. Can I do it?

Scholar: (Hurriedly) Your Holiness has the final authority in such matters. Why would Your Holiness require my consent?

H.H.: It is your work and hence your property. If I were to attempt modifying any portion in it without your consent, it would only amount to My tampering with your property. I do not intend doing it.

The book deals with the anecdotes of Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamin
