Saraswati is Brahman - Sayanacharya

=====================
Shri Sayanacharya invokes Bhagavati Saraswati
=====================

[I bow down to Vani, who is Chidananda-kalam ie manifestation of Chit-ananda roopi Brahman, who bears moon on her head and whose reflection in the intellect is varied based on the gradation in the latter's purity]

Brahman is Nirguna and Nirvishesha. However, for the benefit of the aspirants, Brahman manifests in a Sa-vishesha form. Bhagavati Saraswati, says Shri Sayanacharya, is one such manifestation of Chit-ananda-swaroopa Brahman.  Though, She is essentially the Parabrahman, She is beheld variously by the devotees based on how pure their intellect is. The more we purify our buddhi, the clearer will be the reflection of Bhagavati and the closer we ll be in realizing her true nature.

In the purest of the intellect, which is engaged in constant contemplation of the Mahavakyas, She manifests as the Brahma-vidya and liberates the aspirant from the shackles of samsara. Says Shri Anandagiri Acharya :

वाक्योत्थबुद्धिवृत्त्यभिव्यक्तं ब्रह्मैव ब्रह्मविद्या ।

~ मुण्डक भाष्य टीका

[ Brahma-vidya is verily the Brahman manifesting through the intellect engaged in contemplation of Mahavakyas]

This purest manifestation of the Brahman is regarded as the Devi tattva in Advaita Sampradaya. Bhagavatpada describes this very tattva as Uma-haimavati in his Kena bhashya, Anandagiri Acharya also clarifies it in the tika and the succeeding Acharyas like Swami Shankarananda, Swami Vidyaranya, Shri Sayanacharya and others have also held the same view.

Many thanks to Shri Divyasanu Pandey ji for helping in understanding the shloka 🙏🏻
