अद्यतन सुभाषितम्

आलस्यं हि मनुष्याणां शरीरस्थो महान् रिपुः--

laziness is indeed a great enemy, Residing in the body of men

आलस्यं तु नराणां- देहे स्थितं महान् शत्रुः--

अन्वयं - As per the gvn order - no change

आलस्यं - laziness - சோம்பேறித்தனம்                      हि - indeed - நிச்சயமாக  मनुष्याणां - of men - மனிதர்களுடைய-            शरीरस्थो - शरीरस्थः - Residing in the body - உடம்பில் இருக்கும்    (the word has changed its form. Due to visargha u thva sandhi) महान् - great - பெரிய                 रिपुः-enemy-எதிரி

शरीरे तिष्ठति इति शरीरस्थः। that which stands /exists within the body.

Even though मनुष्याणां is a pulling haha shabdhaaha, when v talk about a general class of people or animals etc, which includes both males and females, v shd denote it only by a pullinghaha- shabdhaha. So in the given saying, मनुष्याणां includes both males and females.

मनुषी is the femn form for मनुष्यः
