I am hearing this song from 1998. 'Someone Somewhere' CD was there with me in all my long term travels.
Urdu and Ghazal are made for each other. Some of the words' essence is very difficult to convey in other languages. Melancholy and then realization of our limitation is aptly conveyed.
आद्मी आद्मी को क्या देगा
जो भी देगा वहीं खुदा देगा
मेरा कातिल ही मेरा मुन्सिफ हैं
क्या मेरे हक़ में फैसला देगा
जिन्दगी को करीब से देखो
इस्का चेह्रा तुम्हें रुला देगा
हम्से पूछो दोस्ती का सिला
दुश्मनों का दिल हिला देगा
इश्क का जहर पी लिया फ़किर
अप्ने मसीहा भी क्या दवां देगा
மனிதன் மனிதனுக்கு எதைத் தருவான்
எதைத் தரவேண்டுமோ அதை இறைவன் தருவான்
என்னுடைய கொலையாளியே என்னுடைய நீதிபதி
அவன் என் சார்பில் தீர்ப்பு வழங்குவானா?
வாழ்வை நெருக்கத்திலிருந்து பார்
அதன் முகம் உன்னை அழவைக்கும்
நட்பின் பரிசு என்ன என என்னிடம் கேள்
எதிரியின் இதயத்தையும் நெகிழ வைக்கும்
அன்பெனும் விஷத்தை குடித்துவிட்டேன், ஃபகீர்
நம் இறைத்தூதன் கூட என்ன மருந்தைத்தருவான்.
