ஆடு நாடு தேடினும் ஆனை சேனை தேடினும்
கோடி வாசி தேடினும் குறுக்கே வந்து நிற்குமோ
ஓடி இட்ட பிச்சையும் உகந்து செய்த தர்மமும்
சாடி விட்ட குதிரை போல் தர்மம் வந்து நிற்குமே

Rough translation of the above Verse of Sri Siva Vaakiyar is

The wealth which one accumulates, The riches one earns will not help in the end. 

Giving alms to the needy, the dharma which a person done with wholeheartedness

That alone comes like a kindled Horse to protect him at the time need
