Namaste,

Karthigai DeepamYou can embed an Archetype into your unconscious with meditation . This Friday, December 5 (IST) is celebrated as "Karthigai Deepam". It occurs when the Full Moon aligns with the Pleiadian Star, Krittika. Krittika Full Moon allows the Light of Higher Pleiadian Consciousness to enter into the world, and it provides an opportunity for us to dramatically increase our Inner Light. This is important, because light is consciousness, the more inner light means we have more consciousness, intelligence and energy. Additionally, it's special because of its connection with Lord Muruga. Muruga is God of the Pleiades and God of the 3rd Eye. Muruga will free us from the bad karma affecting your money, health and relationships.

Karthigai Deepam: Karma Dissolving Light of Pleiades.

Karma Dissolving Light of PleiadesIn South India, Karthigai Deepam festival is celebrated during the Tamil month of Karthigai (Nov-Dec). The Mountain of Fire, Arunachala, is the premier vortex on our Earth for Lord Shiva in the form of an Infinite Pillar of Fire, representing the Element of Fire. It is located in the city of Tiruvannamalai, which is a world renowned pilgrimage destination. It comes alive during Karthigai Deepam, when a special karma dissolving light from the Pleiades' stars flood the solar system. To honor this spiritual gift to humanity, a huge lamp with thousands of gallons of oil is lit on the mountain top. You do not have to come in person, just think about the mountain or look at a picture of it, and liberation from sorrow and suffering is possible.

Krittika Nakshatra

Astrologically, Deepam occurs when a Full Moon aligns with Krittika Nakshatra (star). This birth star is associated with Lord Muruga, the warrior archetype who fights for light. The Moon will be exalted in Taurus and Mars will be exalted in Capricorn. This means that Mars will be in the 9th house from the Moon. This is a very good placement of Mars to the Moon. Additionally, the Moon will be in the Sun's star, Krittika, and this alignment is what gives such importance to this day. The day being Friday is auspicious for Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi will shower her blessings as we light lamps filled with ghee. Praying to Somaskandan on the Deepam day this year is more effective because of this exalted Mars in the 9th house to the Moon. The Moon is known as Soma and Lord Muruga is Skanda. Lord Muruga is the Overlord of planet Mars. Hence, worshiping Lord Somaskandan is very auspicious on this day.

AstroSpeak:

Worshiping Lord MurugaMuruga's Vel represents infinite wisdom that brings true liberation. It destroys karma that has accumulated over many lifetimes. Vel's shakti allows you to think and act with power, and ends ignorance by dissolving karmic impressions. Worshiping Lord Muruga on Karthigai Deepam helps in overcoming problems created by enemies. Muruga's birth star is Krittika, which is also the Sanskrit name for the Pleiades star cluster.
