Ani Thirumanjanam - Sri Natesha Ashtottaram

Courtesy: Sri.K. Muralidharan Iyengar

Dear All,

Greetings and Namaste. As Ani Thirumanjanam (04-Jul-2014, Friday) is a special occasion for Lord Natesha/Nataraja, I am attaching a rare Ashtottara Shata Namavali on Lord Natesha. Last year I had sent Sri Natesha Sahasranama Stotram.

Chidambaram is an important pilgrimage center for both Shaivite and Vaishnavite lineages of Hinduism - it is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Vaishnavite lineage but located within Lord Shiva's shrine (akin to Kanchi Kamakshi Temple and many others like Thirunavalur).

Such sectarian differences are irrelevant outside of the greater Tamil Nadu of the medieval times (e.g. Kerala divya desams are like Chidambaram with many different deity forms included subscribing to the Parashurama Kalpa Agama predominantly. Ananda padmanabha Swamy Temple in Trivandrum includes a Shiva Linga in the sanctum Sanctorum and Guruvayur Temple includes Durga/Ganapati/Shasta shrines and dictates that the darshan at Guruvayur is never fulfilled without a darshan at nearby Mammiyur Shiva Temple. Lord Parashurama Temple in Kovalam includes both Shiva and Parashurama shrines)

May We Seek The Blessing of Lord of cosmic dance on this auspicious day!

With Pranams,
