A devotee went to Srirangam and saw Lord Ranganatha reclining on Sesha. He said ,
அலைகடல் அடி வருட
பாற்கடல் தாலாட்ட
பாம்பணை மேல் பள்ளிகொண்ட
பரந்தாமா
கலைமகளை நாவில் வைத்த நான்முகனை
நாபிக்க்கமலத்தில்
தாங்கிய அயர்வோ
...
மந்தரமலைதனை முதுகில் சுமந்து
குடவரையை விரலில்
ஏந்திய இளைப்போ
மூவுலகும் அளந்த பாதம் நொந்ததோ
அன்னை யசோதை சீராட்டிய நினைவோ
The Lord replied,
"Not any of the reasons you mentioned ! I took the incarnation as Krishna and moved around the cowherds and simple folk whose devotion I cherished more than that of learned Brahmins and Kshathriyas. I showed the world that I am easy to attain for the devotees with simple mind and a heart full of love. Then I came here in kaliyuga and brought my bed also and lay here to bless the devotees . Again I had to show to the world that a devotee who loves Me with pure heart is dearer to me than a high born ones who has no love towards his fellow beings and looks down on a devotee who is low born in his view! That is why I elevated ThiruppaaNaazvaar and made the sage Loka Saranga carry him in to my temple. But still these people have not understood Me and fight among themselves with prejudices of caste, sect and tradition. Hence I am resting, being tired of educating these fools. Even my dearest Ramanuja , who set an example by treating all devotees the same irrespective of caste and other differences is forgotten by these , because though they say that they are all followers of Ramanuja, they fight among themselves each group saying that they alone are the real followers while in fact none of them follow him because they have for gotten his teachings and forgotten the fact that it wa she who proclaimed to the whole world the sanctity of My name from the temple top.
But, Said the devotee, if you do not come to the rescue of the world who else will? And what would be the fate of the world, Oh Lord.

காவேரி நடுவே மாயத்துயில் கொண்ட

கல்தூணில் மாலோல நரசிங்கமாய் அம்ர்ந்து
கம்பனுக்கு சிரக்கம்பம் செய் ரசிக சிரோமணி
கஸ்தூரிரங்கா ---
ரகுவம்ச குலநிதி ப்ருகுவரத குண நிதி
வீடணற்கு வீடளித்த தயாநிதியே
கஸ்தூரிரங்கா ----
தருமம் நலிவுறும் தருணம் வருவேன் என
தன்ஞ்சயற்கு அன்று வாக்களித்தாயே
அறம் முற்றும் மறைந்து அவனி அழியும் முன்னம்
அருட்கூர்ந்து எங்களை காத்தருள்வாயோ
