Hare Srinivasa
Om dham dhanvatariye namaha |
Karthika Krishna Dwadashi - is the day on which Srihari with his roopa of
Dhanvantary came with Amrutha during after Samudra Mathana.
During his pradurbhava, Dhanvantry paramathma appeared as
"dheerghapeevaradordanda:" - with vishala baahu. His neck resembled
Shanka. Eyes looked red. The colour of the skin looked water filled
cloud, his entire body was covered with ornaments. He was wearing
peetambara. He had shining karnabharana. He had black hair. His steps
resembled the walk of the lion.
He brought the amruthakalasha. He is none other than saakshat Srihari in
Dhanvantri roopa. He is the mukyadrastara for Ayurveda.
As soon as the devatas and daithyaas saw the Srihari roopa they came
running to him asking for the amrutha, but daithyas snatched the amrutha
kalasha from Dhanvantari.
Note : Here Srihari allowed the daithyas to snatch it from him to show that
the daithyas do not deserve it. Because, there was an agreement with the
daithyas and the devataas to share the amrutha. Srihari wanted the world
to know that the daithyas are satyavachana brashtaas (they do not keep the
words) and they did it with adharma by snatching. Even though he was
capable of holding it strong, he let it loose to show their wickedness
