9 holes

Courtesy: Sri.AVMV
But our mission ( like a golfer ) revolves around the 9 holes. How Puranjana gets separated from his friend
and wanders into the legendary subterranean city of the Nagas, called Bhogavati
ringed with blue waters guarded by lofty ramparts with watch towers punctuating
their interminable length with the NINE great GATES as leads-in, breathing in the scents of a thousand flowers;
and Puranjana falling hook line and sinker for the doe eyed Puranjini, the seductive
lass of barely sixteen; and his life thereafter . Puranjana's youth and his
manhood fading swiftly away in constant indulgence with his queen; how
gandharva Chandavega (TIME) conducts raids after raids who always has designs
on the city of 9 gates. All these and more are retold by Narada to
Praachiinaabarhi, calling it a tale of the Brahmavidya. How in the end
Puranjana & Avijnaana unite? (Jivatman & Paramatman??). How the
jivatman initially enters a body of 9 gates-the city called Bhogavati! Queen Puranjini is the mind; she is buddhi
with which the world of pleasures is experienced. Her 10 servitors are the ten
indriyas, five of the body, karmendriyas and five of the mind gyanendriyas. Each
has a hundred wives or mistresses which are their myriad functions. The serpant
guardian at the gates of Bhogavati is Prana life breath. The five heads are the
different kinds of vital breath- pana apana vyana udana and samana.

The jivatman enjoys the world of samsara through the nine gates of perception; they
lead in and out of the city of Bhogavati. Once he finds buddhi the jivatman
becomes her slave. He mimics her every way forgetting his true prestine
illuminous nature, he identifies himself with his mind with which he enjoys the
world of the senses and their objects. That is why Puranjana keeps doing
everything that Puranjini does/dictates…( no I don't mean at our homes..so no
Jagda please). The jivatma becomes completely enmeshed in the world of samsara its enjoyments and torments.
The hundred years (alright now may be less) for which
Puranjana enjoys his city, his wife, his children and his carnal pleasures is
the lifespan given to a mortal man. The onslaughts of Chandavega are the
constant attack of TIME (Kaala). His 360 gandharva warriors and their dark and
fair mistresses are the days and nights of the year. Some nights are mooned ,
hence the fair mistresses.

Bhaya's daughter Jara is old age and her raiding yavanas are the deadly diseases of the
body and the mind.Bhaya is Death and his brother Prajvara is the last fever from
which a man dies.Death is Yavaneswara the Lord of the diseases. Deluded by now
about his own true self the jivatma experiences the sufferings of the body, the terrors
of time. He is actually asleep in the coils of maya, but not until he awakens
from the long dream or nightmare will he realize that all this is only a dream!
