courtesy: Sri.Mohan
==============
1. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+end = a) the concluding portion of the
Vedas, i.e., Upanishads or b) construing end as conclusion or final
message, it could mean Brahmasutras and Puranas too besides just
Upanishads

2. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+proximity = the one that is in close
vicinity, which could mean essence or a part that is near the Vedas.
This could mean a) the one which possesses the essence of the Vedas or
b) the Upanishads, for they being closer (as an appendix) to the Vedas

3. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+ inside = something that holds what is
inside the Vedas or the essence of Vedas.

4. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+conclusion = something that a)
conclusively says the messages and import of the Vedas and or b) being
the end or the concluding part the Vedas

5. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+ definite ascertainment = something
that conclusively ascertains the right message of the Vedas. Modern
research tells us that Puranas hold the continuity of thought of the
Vedas. Hence the phrase definite ascertainment rightly applies to
Puranas as well. Also, it could mean Brahmasutras as they are also
called as Siddhanta Sutras because they act as a key to unravel what
is Vedas' final ascertainment.

6. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+inner part = that which holds the
inner part or the essence of the Vedas

7. Veda+anta = Veda (knowledge)+final of a word = again, means
definite conclusion or ascertainment
