mahAbhArata on karma

                     यथा धेनुसहस्रेषु वत्सो विन्दति मातरम् ।

                     तथा पूर्वकृतं कर्म कर्तारम् अनुगच्छति ॥

  " As a calf finds its mother among a thousand cows, so does the deed previously done follow after the doer. "
