Variance in reading of bhAgavata - purANa 1.2.4

       A text variant between the vijayadhvaja – pATHa and the shrIdhara - pATHa occurs at bhAgavata – purANa 1.2.4. Along with the sandhi variant at naraJNchaiva and naraM chaiva, the wording at the end of the verse is granthamudIraye in the dvaita text and jayamudIrayet in the advaita text: 

 

       नारायणं नमस्कृत्य नरञ्चैव नरोत्तमम् ।

   देवीं सरस्वतीं व्यासं ततो ग्रन्थमुदीरये ॥४॥

 

   नारायणं नमस्कृत्य नरं चैव नरोत्तमम् ।

   देवीं सरस्वतीं व्यासं ततो जयमुदीरेत् ॥४॥
