Gayathri Purascharanam

GAYATHRI PURASCHARANAM:
For any manthram to become Siddhi, first, Purascharanam has to be done.
Vishwamithra did such a Purascharanam and got to see Gayathri in her
full glory and received Brahmanayam. There are several texts that tell
us about Gayathri Purascharanam. Devi Bhagavatham 11th Skandam, 21st
Chapter tells us the following:

Purascharanam has to be done in a holy place. If one is doing a
Purascharanam for any other manthram, there has to be a minimum of
10,000 Gayathri to back it up.
For Gayathri Purascharanam once has to first do Kruchram and cleanse our
body. Then one has to do Anugnai, Sankalpam, Navagraha Preethi, and
Naandi Shrardham. One has to decide the number of japam to be done;
state it in the Sankalpam and do it likewise without fail. One has to do
1 lakh Japam for every aksharam (i.e., 24, 00,000). Then, one has to
do10th of that count as Homam. One has to do 3,000 homam for each of the
below separately: ghee, milk, rice, gingely seeds, Dhoorvai, lotus
flower, yavam and honey (3*8=24). Only after this, to get desired
results, should one do the Japam and homam separately.

GAYATHRI KAAMYA PHALAM: (benefits of Gayathri based on certain
conditions)
* If one chants 1000 Gayathri for 1 year, he will get long life,
good health, physical strength and money.
* If one does 25 lakhs homam with curd, the whole body will become
full of Gayathri and will get Ashtanga Yoga Siddhi.
* One would get salvation (moksham) for 1 lakh homam with Lotus
flowers.
* Any type of disease or illness will cured if one does 1008
Gayathri with Shankha Pushpam daily until the disease is cured.
* As stated above, if one does homam with achyranthes aspera
(nayuruvi) and branches of a banyan tree (arasa samith) fits will be
cured.
* Similarly, if one does homam with Athi samith, megha rogam will
be cured.
* Similarly, if one does homam with honey or sugarcane juice
hallucination and other mental disorders will be cured.
* If one does 1008 homam with athi, banyan tree branches for one
month, cow, elephant and horse's illness will be cured.
* As above, if one does homam with ghee, snake hills and ant hills
will not crop inside our houses.
* If one does 1008 homam with 'kaattu nochi' (Debregeasia
longifolia) for 7 days, earthquakes and lightning will not strike.
* If one chants 100 gayathri and throws mud balls in front of
storm and fire they will cease at that point. Even enemies will not dare
against us.
* If one chants Gayathri 100 times in one's mind, he will freed
from all material bondage.
* If one chants 100 times in water and drinks that water poison
will be broken. Evil spirits will flee.
* If one chants Gayathri 100 times and smears ash, fever will be
cured.
* If one does 100 times homam with lotus flowers or banyan
branches or palacha samith everyday, one will get Lakshmi kataksham.
* As above, if one does homam with puffed rice (pori) or Thri
Madhuram one will get a suitable bride or groom.
* If one does 100 times homam for 7 days with RED lotus, gold will
prosper in house.
* Until one gets the result, if one does payasam nivedyam to sun
god and do 100 times homam with paayasannam, a child will be born.
* If one does 100 times homam for 7 days with arugam pillu, milk
honey etc, untimely death (Apa-Mruthyu) can be avoided.
* If one observes fasting once a day for 3 days and does 1000
times homam with arugam pillu, milk honey etc, untimely death
(Apa-Mruthyu) can be avoided.
* If one observes fasting continuously for 7 days and do 1000
homam daily with erukku samith, one will find victory in everything.
* If one does 1008 times homam with payasam, pushpam and nochi
samith, it will rain.
* If one stands in water up to midriff level and does 1000 japam
with fasting, it will rain.
* If one does 1000 Gayathri Japam with Kumbhaka Pranayamam for 3
months all desires will be fulfilled.
* If one stands in one leg and lifts both the hands above head and
does 3000 japam for 1 year, all desires will be fulfilled. One will get
to know the Past, present and future.
* Similarly, if one does such japam for 4 years, one will get to
see Indradi devathas.
* If one does such japam for 5 years, one will get Ashta maha
siddhi.
* If such japam is done for 6 years, one can take any form of
one's choice (icha roopam).
* If such Japam is done for 7 years one can become devas
(demigod).
* If such Japam is done for 12 years, one can become Brahma
(Brahma is a post; it is nor permanent. It lasts for 100 Brahma years).
* If one does 100 gayathri for 1 month, all our sins will be
washed away.
